What You Will Do:

• Perform a variety of tasks to maintain all sections of furnace melting systems.
• Work from written and oral instructions with assistance to perform teardown, rebuild and maintenance of crucible, and heating coils.
• Tear down and evaluate for necessary repairs or replacement of parts.
• Use arc welder or gas torch to make repairs such as brazing coils and welding support members.
• Repair or replace cracked or damaged refractory.
• Reassemble, making sure coil assembly is isolated from crucible with sufficient ram filler.
• Assist in rolling, assembly, and necessary adjustments on coil units, where condition of units is such that simple problems may be solved to make the set-up and complete the unit.
• From time to time perform other duties not associated with melting systems that are required to maintain overall shop appearance and work flow, i.e., mopping floors, operate forklift, and headroom duties.
• May be required to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this position in support of department objectives and to develop one's skills
• Adhere to ACE guidelines and perform ACE duties as required
• Adhere to all EH & S guidelines, including wearing of required personal protective equipment.
• The position will work a schedule of Friday - Sunday (3x12) 7:00am - 7:00pm (4th shift).

Qualifications You Must Have:

• HS diploma (or equivalent, e.g. G.E.D in the US)

• Must have a strong attendance record
• Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills
• Must be able to work hours outside of the regular shift
• Must have good mechanical aptitude
• Must be able to wear a respirator
• The position requires ascending, descending stairs, standing for extended periods, bending, squatting, twisting, overhead reach, and lifting up to 25 pounds.

The salary range for this role is $21.00/hr. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
