Clinical Role

Join an established Cardiovascular Institute in Cottonwood, Arizona, providing Interventional Cardiology coverage in both the hospital and clinic settings. This ongoing locums opportunity offers a rotating hospital and clinic schedule, STEMI coverage, consultative services, and a collaborative multidisciplinary team in the beautiful Verde Valley.

Schedule:

• Monday-Friday
• 7:00 AM-5:30 PM
• Rotation between hospital and clinic each week
• Possible weekend coverage

Clinical Details & Responsibilities

Practice Setting:

• Hospital
• Outpatient Clinic

Patient Population:

• Adults ages 60 and older

Department Description:

• Cardiovascular Institute serving the Verde Valley
• Interventional Cardiology coverage
• STEMI management
• Cardiology consultations
• No Cardiothoracic Surgery backup available

Patient Volume:

• Hospital consults: Approximately 8-14 patients per day
• Clinic: Approximately 18-24 patients per day
• TEEs: Approximately 1-2 per day

Clinical Responsibilities:

• Provide Interventional Cardiology services
• Manage STEMI patients
• Perform hospital consultations
• Perform transesophageal echocardiograms (TEE)
• Evaluate and manage outpatient cardiology patients
• Collaborate with hospital and clinic teams
• Document patient care using Cerner

Support & Technology

EMR System:

• Cerner

Support Staff:

• Medical Assistants
• Patient Care Technicians
• Nursing staff
• Physician Assistant support for inpatient services

Requirements

• Board Certified in Interventional Cardiology required
• Arizona Medical License required
  • Facility has time to assist with Arizona licensure
  • IMLC Accepted
• ACLS required
• BLS required
• Minimum two years of Interventional Cardiology experience required

Preferred Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with patients and staff

Credentialing

• Approximately 30 days
