What You Will DoBe a presence on the floor, increase wine sales and wine service standardsWork nightly serviceResponsible for section of dining roomTouching all tables in sectionRunning bottles to entire restaurantOpening bottles in assigned sectionGuest first mentality which means whoever has time to open the bottle, MUST open the bottle regardless of who sold itAssist Wine Director/Head Sommelier with all administrative dutiesManage the daily activities necessary for maintenance and promotion of the restaurant’s wine collectionWeekly inventoryReceive wine on Tuesdays and FridaysTeam will alternate coming in at 9am on shipment daysMonitor the conditions of the wine cellar, ensuring optimal storage and organizationRecommend and serve wine to guests according to their tastes and preferencesWork independently and with a team inside established procedures associated with Maple and AshAdvise guests according to their personal needs (related to their taste, the food and wine pairing, the occasion or the budget)Time management will be shared between working nightly service on the floor as a key member of the front of house team and the management of your wine listLead staff training on wine and other beverages by conducting tastings at pre-shift or teaching a class (will set up bi-monthly wine classes for staffWho We Are Looking ForPossesses an extensive knowledge of wine and be able to pair wines with items on the menuMust be able to present themselves professionally and confidentlyNaturally able to educate your guests and exhibit a level of expertise without being a salespersonHave a sensitive palette and extraordinary sense of smellQuick to react to complaints and unusual service situations, always putting guests’ needs firstTeam oriented – must be willing to support service captains on the floorMaple Hospitality Group is an equal opportunity employer committed to hiring a diverse workforce and supporting an inclusive culture.
