Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Telemetry Duration: 13 to 26 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience required License: Current nursing license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: - Telemetry experience - PCU/DOU/IMC/Stepdown experience - Interpretation of dysrhythmias and remote monitoring experience - Pre/Post Cardiac Cath and Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery experience - Sheath removal experience - Accessing ports, blood product administration, central line care management - PICC line management - Cardiac drip titration experience (Diltiazem and Amiodarone) Description: RTO after booking is not allowed. Any call-offs or additional RTO on the unit could possibly turn into a cancel and DNR. Float requirement is needed; potential to float every shift. Patients may include those with Congestive Heart Failure and Arrhythmias. Unit monitors cardiac patients with various cardiac drips such as Dobutamine, Amiodarone, Cardizem, Milrinone, Dopamine, and Diltiazem. Sheath pulls and TR bands are part of the special procedures on this unit. Staff may work storm or hurricane teams as needed during catastrophic events. All candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting in this specialty. A teamwork approach and adherence to behavioral expectations in interactions with patients and staff are essential. Call-off policy is strictly enforced.
