About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night 3x12 Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in medical-surgical nursing License: Valid RN License in South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact State Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) Must-Have: - Experience in medical-surgical nursing - Familiarity with electronic health record systems Description: The position is for a Registered Nurse in the Medical Surgical specialty. The unit focuses on providing care for patients with co-occurring medical and behavioral health conditions. The unit consists of two sides, with a total of 18 beds reserved for adult patients. There will be a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:3 on the medical-surgical side and 1:4 on the behavioral health side. The work schedule involves three 12-hour shifts from 7 PM to 7:30 AM, including rotation for holidays and weekends. RNs will be expected to float within their scope to meet facility needs. The unit is staffed with a collaborative care team, including physical therapy, respiratory services, and social services. The majority of patients will present with co-occurring medical and behavioral health needs. Travelers must be aware that they may be assigned to emergency response teams during hurricane season. This role provides a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary environment. Candidates should possess strong clinical skills, including experience with IV management, patient assessment, and care for adults with complex needs.
