Job Summary:
A registered nurse specializing in Emergency Department care is sought for a position in Madison, Wisconsin. The role involves providing urgent and emergent nursing care to adult and pediatric patients in a high-volume, Level I trauma-designated emergency department. Candidates must bring their license on the first day of assignment.

Job Details:

• Location: Madison, WI

• Shift Hours: Eve/Night, 12-hour shifts and 8-hour shifts as needed, from 3:00 PM to 3:30 AM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Minimum Hours Per Week: 36 hours
• Required Qualifications: Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact RN license, recent (within last 3 years) Emergency Department experience (minimum 2 years) with adult and pediatric populations, Basic Life Support (BLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association, and Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
• Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS (AHA-only), TNCC.
• Required Skills: Management of abdominal pain, acute psychosis, arterial line care, asthma, BiPAP/CPAP management, blood product administration, burns, ventilated patient care, central line care, chest tube insertion, continuous IV paralytics and sedation, management of cerebrovascular accident (CVA), drug overdose, emergency medications, epiglottitis, medical-surgical emergency procedures, gunshot wounds, head injuries, hyperglycemia, ICP monitoring, neglect/abuse reporting, infection control, arterial blood gas interpretation, dysrhythmia management, intubation, PPE, vasopressors, trauma and stroke certification, splinting, multisystem organ failure management, violent behavior, behavioral health, near drowning, neurotrauma, 12-lead ECG, orthopaedic trauma, phlebotomy, poison ingestion, procedural sedation, psychiatric holds, respiratory infections, seizures, sickle cell crises, skin disorders, spinal cord injury, IV placement, STEMI, ECMO/ECPR (experience required).
• Experience: Two (2) years of recent Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last 3 years.
• EMR System: Epic
• Shift Time & Schedule: Evening/Night shifts, with a schedule of 12-hour and 8-hour shifts as needed, covering 3:00 PM to 3:30 AM or 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Additional Information: The traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to start. Travelers must be willing to float as needed. Local candidates are not accepted.
