About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Emergency Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of two years of Emergency Department experience with adult and pediatric populations within the last three years. License: State RN or Compact RN License required. Certifications: BLS, PALS, ACLS (AHA only), TNCC required. Must-Have: - Epic experience required. - Traveler will be required to pass a telemetry test prior to being cleared to start. Description: Eve and night shifts of 12 hours and 8 hours as needed. Weekend and holiday rotation required. The Emergency Department treats over 60,000 patients annually on an urgent and emergent basis. The facility offers comprehensive services with access to a full team of subspecialists for local and regional patients. Healthcare workers coordinate care with ground ambulances and air transport for severely ill and injured patients. Diagnostic interventions, consultations for cardiac catheterization, trauma care, stroke care, and burn center services are provided. The department has an active ECMO program. Interdisciplinary support is available including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, and rapid response teams. Patient age groups served include neonates, infants, children, adults, and geriatrics. The patient ratio is typically four patients per nurse during days and nights, including weekends. Strong experience in managing complex clinical conditions and emergencies is required. Candidates should have proficiency in critical thinking, decision-making, and stress management. Essential skills include starting and maintaining IVs, interpreting dysrhythmias, and general emergency care. Telemetry knowledge is crucial, and successful completion of a pass/fail telemetry exam is required before the start of the assignment. Travelers may be required to float to other units as needed. Local candidates within a specified distance will not be accepted. A history of managing diverse patient care scenarios is preferred. Candidates must be adaptable to fast-paced and high-acuity environments.
