Assembly Technician

Assembly TechnicianAs an Assembly Technician, you will play a crucial role in constructing the metal frames of large switchboards within a production bay. Your tasks will involve full assembly and basic wire harness assembly on each unit, following detailed blueprints and using precise measurements. You will have access to all necessary parts and a dedicated workstation, allowing you to focus on creating custom switchboards that meet unique customer specifications.ResponsibilitiesBuild metal frames of large switchboards in a production bay using hand tools.Complete full assembly and basic wire harness assembly on each unit.Use tape measure and blueprint to perform repetitive assembly tasks.Ensure quality and precision in assembly based on customer requests.Assemble wire harnesses using simple schematics for large equipment.Mount wire harnesses onto equipment in building control rooms or IT closets.Essential SkillsHigh attention to detail.Proven ability to read a tape measure and use a power drill.Mechanical aptitude and skills.Ability to lift 50lbs as needed.Willingness to work 90 inches off the ground using a step ladder.Comfortable in awkward positions such as sitting, squatting, and kneeling.Must have own steel toe or composite toe shoes.Additional Skills & QualificationsPrevious assembly experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.Experience with wiring.Blueprint reading experience.Experience working with hands in a mechanic setting.Why Work Here?Join a rapidly growing company with great advancement opportunities, as the organization is expanding significantly. The work environment is clean, well-lit, and quiet, fostering a positive atmosphere for precision work. Personal protective equipment such as steel toes, safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and high-visibility clothing are required. Employees are encouraged to be self-motivated, working independently while having access to a supportive team and supervisors.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Monticello, IN.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
