Director of Training, Global Medical Affairs

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Director of Training, Global Medical Affairs based in the United States.

This is a strategic leadership opportunity to shape the training ecosystem for specialized Medical and Commercial teams supporting innovative advanced therapies. You will design and lead a global, phase-appropriate training strategy spanning clinical and commercial development. The role combines scientific depth, operational expertise, and regulatory rigor within a highly specialized cell therapy environment. You will build scalable onboarding, certification, and continuous learning programs that strengthen team capabilities and launch readiness. Success will require close collaboration across Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, CMC, Regulatory, Quality, Commercial, and Patient Services. This is an opportunity to establish foundational training infrastructure within a fast-paced, clinical-stage biotechnology organization. The position is fully remote, with approximately 15% travel.

Accountabilities

• Develop and execute a comprehensive global training strategy aligned with cell therapy programs across clinical and commercial stages.
• Build role-specific onboarding, certification, and continuous learning pathways for Medical, Commercial, and other relevant teams.
• Independently create high-quality training content while managing and leveraging external training vendors and resources.
• Develop and deliver training covering disease states, unmet medical needs, CAR T product design and manufacturing, clinical data, safety monitoring and management, and competitive intelligence.
• Plan and facilitate virtual and onsite onboarding, certification, and refresher programs for field teams and other functions as appropriate.
• Partner cross-functionally with Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, CMC, Regulatory, Quality, Commercial, Patient Services, and HR to align training with launch readiness and product lifecycle strategies.
• Ensure training content, certification processes, and learning activities comply with FDA, EMA, and applicable global regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Establish learning systems, training analytics, and KPIs to measure competency, certification progress, and organizational launch preparedness.
• Partner with HR to support company-wide onboarding and new employee education on products, programs, and relevant scientific foundations.

Requirements

• Advanced degree required, such as APN, PharmD, PhD, MD, or equivalent.
• 10+ years of experience within the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry.
• At least 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs leadership and/or Medical Training roles.
• Direct experience in cell therapy and/or gene therapy strongly preferred.
• Experience in neuroscience, neurology, and/or immunology strongly preferred.
• Previous experience supporting the launch of advanced therapies strongly preferred.
• Strong understanding of regulatory and compliance frameworks applicable to advanced therapeutic modalities.
• Demonstrated ability to build scalable training infrastructure within clinical-stage, high-growth, or resource-conscious biotechnology environments.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to translate complex scientific information into effective learning experiences.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and the ability to navigate complex priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Approximately 15% travel required.
