We're recruiting on behalf of an established precision engineering manufacturer that supplies specialist components and solutions to customers across a range of high-tech industries.

They're looking for a Technical Account Executive to join their growing commercial team. This isn't a hard-selling role. It's about understanding customer requirements, working alongside experienced technical colleagues and building long-term relationships with engineering and manufacturing customers.

Whether you've worked as an Applications Engineer, Sales Engineer, Technical Support Engineer or in another customer-facing engineering role, we'd like to hear from you.

The Role

You'll become a trusted point of contact for customers, helping them identify the right solutions for their applications while supporting projects from initial enquiry through to delivery.

Working closely with engineering, production and commercial teams, you'll develop a strong understanding of the company's products and help customers find practical, manufacturable solutions.

You'll also have the opportunity to visit customers, attend trade exhibitions and support business growth across the US and internationally.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with existing customers and develop new business opportunities.
• Respond to technical enquiries and prepare quotations.
• Work with internal engineering teams to deliver practical customer solutions.
• Manage your own sales pipeline and follow opportunities through to completion.
• Visit customers to understand their applications and develop long-term partnerships.
• Represent the business at exhibitions, trade shows and industry events.
• Provide excellent customer service throughout the sales process.

About You

You'll probably have experience in a technical, engineering, scientific or manufacturing environment and enjoy working directly with customers.

You don't need previous experience within photonics or optics. Full product training will be provided.

We're looking for someone who is:

• Comfortable communicating with technical customers.
• Curious and keen to learn new technology.
• Commercially aware with a proactive approach.
• Organised, responsive and customer focused.
• Looking to build a long-term career within technical sales.

A degree in Engineering, Physics, Science or a related technical discipline would be advantageous, but isn't essential.
