Job Title: Mechanical Engineer II

Location: Atlanta, GA 30338

Type: Hybrid (On-site 3+ days per week, typically Mon, Tue, Wed. Some Thursdays will be needed.)

Duration: 12+ Months (Possibility of Extension/Conversion)

Payrate: $60.00 - $62.96/hr on W2 

Job Description:

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide mechanical engineering support for the Mobile UCI production rollout.
• Create and modify CAD designs and technical drawings as production needs evolve.
• Coordinate with suppliers to procure and manufacture parts.
• Identify and qualify new suppliers for components such as gaskets, wiring, and other mechanical parts.
• Assist with environmental testing activities.
• Establish inventory structures for new parts and assemblies.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production and assembly issues, including travel to assembly locations such as GTS in Marietta as needed.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar field with 2+ years of experience; OR
• Associate degree, technical certifications (machinist, CNC operator, etc.) with 2+ years of experience; OR
• 5+ years of relevant mechanical engineering experience.
• We are also very interested in candidates with hands-on machining experience who use Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar CAD tools and are looking to transition into a broader engineering role.

Required Skills:

• 3D CAD design experience using Autodesk Fusion 360, SolidWorks, or similar tools.
• Technical drawing creation and interpretation.
• Knowledge of tolerancing practices.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience designing electronics enclosures.
• Familiarity with GD&T concepts.
• Location & Travel

Top 3-5 MUST HAVEs:

• Mechanical / CAD design experience with Autodesk Fusion 360 or SolidWorks
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and apply tolerancing practices
• Clear communication abilities in written and spoken word.
• Documenting industrial processes, etc.

Additional Notes:

• Candidate must be based in the Atlanta area and able to work in the office at least 3 days per week, preferably 4 days per week.
• During peak production periods, on-site presence could be required up to 5 days per week.
• Ability to travel to assembly and production locations as needed.
