SummaryThe Customer Load Management (CLM) Supply Portfolio Trader may work in various distinct areas including short-term load forecasting, New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) energy bidding/transacting, energy reconciliation, long-term forecasting, load research, load evaluations, Capacity/UCAP forecasting, NYISO ICAP/UCAP bidding/transacting, energy and capacity reconciliation, and various market and customer load related analytics and market bidding. Within these areas, the CLM Trader performs, assists and/or supports the critical functions necessary for the success of the group and its stakeholders.  The CLM Trader must understand the fundamentals of customer tariffs and contracts for developing comprehensive, dynamic, and static forecasts of demand, energy, capacity and coincidence peak loads, as well as production sales delivery and transacts NYISO-related bids and bilaterals for all NYPA’s supply customers as well as enterprise-wide stakeholders.  The CLM Trader manages all the energy and capacity transactions within the NYISO marketplace and serves as the authoritative source for all supply-customer load and capacity related data associated with the transactions.  The CLM Trader must have strong analytical skills to support autonomous decision making, must be prepared to articulate and defend their analytics behind the decisions; they must also manage and perform all the customer load-related reporting needs for the enterprise. They are considered the subject matter experts on all aspects related to wholesale market and retail customer load forecasting and Load Serving Entity (LSE) transactions. Some additional responsibilities: Participate in an on‑call rotation (typically every 4–5 weeks, or as required by business needs) to provide after‑hours support, monitoring forecast and scheduling variances over weekends or holidays due to changes in weather or anomalous load‑shifting events.Revise forecasts and adjust NYISO schedules in response to unexpected customer outages or load‑reduction events that create significant variances.Communicate with third parties to confirm bilateral transactions that are pending second‑party confirmation with the NYISO.ResponsibilitiesExecute daily functions required by NYISO as an LSE, Power Supplier, Transmission Customer & Market Participant Develop, monitor, adjust bids/schedules and forecasts to ensure adherence to strategy, fuel management constraints, contractual obligations & appropriate governanceReview and analyze market conditions to develop & submit bids for all NYPA assets/portfolios on hourly/daily/forward basisManage NYPA trading tools as appropriate to reduce NYPA exposure to market volatilityStay current with NYISO procedures, market issues and reports.Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesFamiliar with Wholesale Electricity Market, Fuel Markets and/or associated Financial products.Basic business, statistical, financial, analytical and reasoning skillsStrong analytical and communication skills Able to adapt, multitask and work under pressureEducation, Experience and CertificationsBachelor's degree or requiredMinimum of 2 years of related experience in an analytical role or equivalent combinations of education & experience. The estimated salary range for this position is: $99,000 - $124,000.
