Accounting Manager

Job Responsibilities Managing and directing the accounts payable processes and procedures, including ensuring all reasonable discounts are taken on accounts payable and all invoices are paid timely. Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly. Ensure that required debt payments are made on a timely basis. Maintain an orderly accounting filing system. Assist VP of Accounting and the Director of Accounting to coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit. Participate in numerous special projects including Live Racing, Derby and special events and other duties as assigned. To provide BIG Service to internal and external guests and ensure their complete satisfaction, inclusive of greeting and interacting with guests in a friendly and enthusiastic manner, anticipating and meeting guest needs and preferences, remaining calm and professional when dealing with guests that are difficult or upset. Develop professional, trusting, and positive working relationships with managers, supervisors, staff, coworkers, guests, and vendors. Ensure that work activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and in a timely manner. Work safely: This includes clearly understanding and following company safety policies and procedures, completing work in a safe manner, caring about safety of self and others, responding appropriately in an emergency, and reporting unsafe conditions. Maintain regular attendance at scheduled shift and staff meetings. Maintain professionalism and a friendly and approachable demeanor throughout the workday. Assist with training/mentoring of new team members. Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting required. 3 - 5 years supervisor experience required in an accounting role. CPA preferred. Must be 21 years of age or older. Must pass all required pre-screening and background checks. Internal candidates must meet the eligibility requirements as outlined in the Transfer and Promotion Policy.
