Junior Creative Strategist (Video Content - YouTube)

Job Summary: Shorthand Studios is seeking a Junior Creative Strategist to support the development and execution of high-performing social and video content on YouTube. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is obsessed with creative, knows YouTube and understands what makes videos click, and wants hands‑on experience shaping creative strategy for creators and brands. You’ll work closely with the Creative Director and broader production team to help ideate, refine, and optimize video concepts—from thumbnails and titles to formats and storytelling frameworks—while learning how strategic creative decisions drive real performance. This is a contract role , full-time (40 hrs/week), with competitive compensation. This is a remote role with a preference for candidates based in Nashville, TN . Key Responsibilities Support creative development of YouTube video concepts from idea through publication Assist with ideation around concepts, production execution, thumbnails, hooks, and video formats Help translate performance data into creative insights and recommendations Collaborate with editors, producers, and channel managers on the operations and publishing teams to align creative with strategy Contribute to brainstorming sessions for new series, formats, and experiments Help manage multiple projects while meeting weekly publishing deadlines Stay up to date on YouTube trends, creator formats, and platform best practices Support presentation of creative ideas internally and, occasionally, to partners or clients Qualifications // Experience 2–3 years of experience in video, digital media, social content, or a related field Strong familiarity with YouTube as a platform (creator ecosystem, formats, trends) Basic understanding of marketing fundamentals and audience‑first storytelling Comfortable working across multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment Strong written and verbal communication skills Nice to Have (Not Required) Experience analyzing YouTube performance or audience data Exposure to developing unscripted content and formats Understands thumbnail, title, or format testing Familiarity with creator‑led content, media brands, or social video studios Additional Requirements Highly organized with strong attention to detail Collaborative, curious, and eager to learn Able to take feedback and iterate quickly Comfortable working under deadlines without sacrificing quality About Shorthand Studios Shorthand Studios is a creator‑first media company specializing in YouTube, social video, and streaming‑platform content.
