Systems Engineer (Mid)

ResponsibilitiesWe are seeking a Mid-Level Systems Engineer to support complex GEOINT systems and capabilities across the National System of Geospatial-intelligence (NSG), Allied System of Geospatial-intelligence (ASG), NRO, and Federal Agencies.The Systems Engineer will apply a multidisciplinary approach to requirements engineering, solutions engineering, systems integration, reliability, resiliency, services development, testing and evaluation, maintainability, scheduling, and technical analysis to support the delivery of timely and accurate GEOINT capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct systems and requirements engineering, solutions engineering, scheduling, reliability, resiliency, services development, integration, test and evaluation, maintainability, and technical analysis across NSG, ASG, and Federal Agency environments.Analyze and trace user requirements, architectures, procedures, and technical problems to identify opportunities to automate or improve existing systems and capabilities.Evaluate cloud service capabilities, workflows, and scheduling limitations to support effective systems and mission solutions.Develop solution designs based on requirements analysis, emerging technologies, and mission needs.Assist the Government in capturing and translating mission and customer needs into system and capability requirements and technical solutions.Support the analysis and allocation of requirements to system architecture components and executing programs.Perform systems integration activities across complex technical environments.Support Analysis of Alternatives (AoAs), Courses of Action (CoAs), trade studies, and engineering assessments.Assist with strategic technical planning, project management, performance engineering, risk management, and interface design.Location: This position is fully onsite in either Chantilly or Springfield, VAQualificationsRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree or higher in Systems Engineering or a related technical/scientific field such as Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, Operations Research, Engineering Management, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or another related STEM discipline.Equivalent experience may be substituted: 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree, or 2 additional years of relevant experience with a non-STEM degree.6+ years of relevant experience in government or industry, including experience with DoD/IC acquisition processes, requirements processes, PPBES processes, or systems engineering within large, complex System-of-Systems or Service-Oriented Architecture environments across cloud, on-premises, or hybrid infrastructures.6+ years of systems engineering experience in government or industry.Active TS/SCI clearance, SCI eligibility, or the ability to obtain SCI and successfully complete a polygraph.Demonstrated knowledge of the NSG/ASG and NRO enterprises.Previous NGA and/or NSG/ASG program or project experience.Previous IC or DoD program/project experience.Active TS/SCI clearance, SCI eligibility, or the ability to obtain SCI and successfully complete a polygraph.Desired QualificationsWorking knowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) processes, tools, and languages.Working knowledge of software development frameworks.INCOSE Associate Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP) certification.Experience supporting geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) programs or missions.Membership or active participation in professional organizations such as:ACSMASCEASPRSOGCSAREMUSGIFWorking knowledge of photogrammetry, remote sensing, image science, information sciences, geographic information systems (GIS), geomatics, or related disciplines.Peraton OverviewPeraton is a next-generation national security company that drives missions of consequence spanning the globe and extending to the farthest reaches of the galaxy. Salary is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the position, the individual’s experience, education, knowledge, skills, and competencies, as well as geographic location and business and contract considerations.
