IR Technologist - Full Time - Evenings - No Call

Job Summary In collaboration with interventional radiologists and nursing staff, the Interventional Radiology Radiographer prepares for and assists in interventional procedures, ensuring safe radiographic practices and adherence to radiation safety protocols. Education & Experience Completion of a Radiologic Technology program from an AMA approved school. Required: None. Preferred: 2 years experience in Interventional Radiology. Certifications Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Licensed by the Louisiana State Radiology Technology Board of Examiners (LSRTBE). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association. Advanced certification in Vascular Interventional Radiology preferred. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Computer skills for data entry and information retrieval. Effective verbal and written communication. Proficiency with Windows applications and role‑specific software. Strong interpersonal skills. Job Duties Verifies physician order and procedure to ensure accuracy. Utilizes radiology information systems to facilitate care. Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding. Operates equipment independently to complete imaging procedures per protocol. Reviews patient images before transmission to meet diagnostic quality standards. Completes timely quality control procedures and performs notification/remediation as required. Assists with departmental operations, including inventory, staff scheduling, equipment, and maintenance. Adapts communication style to specific patient populations, respecting privacy and obtaining permissions appropriately. Other related duties as required. Physical & Environmental Demands Medium work: occasional lifting 20–50 pounds, frequent lifting 10–25 pounds, and occasional light constant forces up to 10 pounds. Requires walking, standing, or moving objects; occasionally pushing/pulling materials. Exposure to blood, body fluids, and tissues; potential risk of communicable diseases.
