Art Teacher - Burrillville Middle School (Anticipated) Burrillville School Department, Burrillville Middle School – Harrisville, Rhode Island Starting Date: Aug 24, 2026 Job Description The Burrillville School Department is seeking a qualified Art Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. The successful candidate will implement the school curriculum, create a flexible learning environment, and foster student achievement and personal growth. General Responsibilities Adapt teaching methods and instructional materials to meet students’ individual needs. Translate lesson plans into learning experiences. Evaluate students’ academic growth, maintain appropriate data/records, and prepare progress reports and report cards. Follow district curriculum with fidelity, meeting the outlined timelines. Provide multiple opportunities for students to move toward proficiency. Communicate effectively with parents through conferences or other means to discuss student progress. Maintain professional competence through in-service education and professional growth activities. Collaborate with administrators to develop evaluation methods in accordance with guidelines. Participate in curriculum development programs, as required. Administer group standardized tests in accordance with the state testing program. Select and requisition books and instructional aides, tracking inventory records accurately. Serve on faculty committees and support student activities. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Rhode Island or equivalent teaching certificate. Experience preferred but not required.
