Chief of Obstetrics & Gynecology

The Opportunity

This role is well-suited for a leader who is energized by the opportunity to build, align, and advance a clinically strong OB/GYN program. The Chief of OB/GYN will have the opportunity to set and advance a clear, forward-looking vision for OB/GYN and maternity services, fostering a collaborative culture that promotes consistency, accountability, and strong performance. This role will focus on enhancing the patient experience, differentiating care delivery in a competitive market, strengthening integration across ambulatory practices and labor and delivery operations, and expanding and optimizing the provider model through strategic recruitment and team development. This role operates within a dyad leadership model alongside the Service Line Administrator and combines strategic oversight, operational accountability, and active clinical practice.

The Ideal Candidate

The successful candidate will have progressive leadership experience in the specialty of OB/GYN along with demonstrated experience leading or influencing physicians and advanced practice providers in a complex clinical environment, community-based health system or integrated delivery network. Success in improving patient experience, access, operational performance and regulatory compliance, and exposure to risk-based or value-based care environments, is helpful. The candidate must hold an MD or DO degree with board certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology and be eligible for, or currently possess, an unrestricted Massachusetts medical license.

The Organization

Signature Healthcare is a not-for-profit, integrated healthcare system providing a wide range of services to patients of all ages throughout Southeastern Massachusetts. The system is comprised of the award-winning Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital, Signature Medical Group (SMG), a multi-specialty physician group of more than 150 physicians practicing across 15 locations, and the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing. The OB/GYN department currently has 1,300 - 1,500 annual deliveries supported by 16 OB/GYN providers. The division is in an active expansion mode to meet community needs.

Brockton, Massachusetts , is located approximately 20 miles south of Boston, 40 miles northeast of Providence, 40 miles west of Cape Cod, and 200 miles northeast of New York City. Brockton is the hub of a densely populated region, which features a diverse array of cities and towns, ranging from urban, to suburban, to rural in nature. Often referred to as the ‘Metro South‘ region of Massachusetts, the area is one of the fastest growing regions in Massachusetts, offering all of the cultural and corporate advantages of the city combined with the natural beauty and serenity of historical New England. Metro South is strategically located with easy access to the airport, seaport, and intermodal facilities of Boston.
