Director, Patient Randomization Rate
$160k - $215kIterative Health
Job Description
Job Description
Iterative Health is a healthcare technology and services company powering the acceleration of clinical research to transform patient outcomes.
We built a leading performance-driven network of 100+ sites across the US, Europe, India, and Australia, conducting research directly in the communities where care is delivered across gastrointestinal, hepatology, obesity, and cardiology. By combining deep clinical trial expertise with cutting-edge AI, we connect sponsors' scientific ambitions with high-performing research teams that expedite and expand access to novel therapeutics for patients in need. Today, Iterative Health is headquartered in Cambridge, Massachusetts, and New York City with 250+ employees world-wide.
Director, Patient Randomization Rate - Strategy & Operations Iterative Health
About the Role
Patient Randomization rate is one of the most critical metrics in our business and one of the hardest to move systematically. This role is responsible for optimizing this metric across our network of sites.
As Director of Patient Randomization Rate, you'll own the strategy and execution behind how Iterative Health improves enrollment performance across our network. That means getting into the details of why patients aren't making it through the funnel by monitoring performance against targets, designing and running programs that build durable patient pipelines with optimal operations, and working with Site Ops and Product to make sure the best ideas actually get implemented and pulled through at the site level.
The most interesting work: understanding why patients aren't making it through the funnel and fixing it, from diagnosing where volume or conversion is breaking down, to designing and running experiments on referral programs, community outreach, process design and external partnerships that improve our randomization rate. This role will differentiate what the highest-performing sites are doing and build the playbooks that replicate it across the network, and create the frameworks that make underperformance visible, surfacing to our Site Operations teams what needs to be fixed.
This is a senior role with real outcome accountability. This role will be building our strategy, running experiments, and driving the operational and strategic changes that move the number.
What You'll Work On
Diagnose funnel performance and design the interventions that fix it
Improving randomization rates requires understanding exactly where and why patients are falling out of the funnel — and then building targeted interventions against each gap.
- Conduct ongoing diagnosis of patient funnel performance — where volume is coming from, where conversion is breaking down, and what's driving screen failure
- Design and run experiments to test interventions at each step of the funnel
- Work with Site Ops to understand what the highest-performing sites are doing differently and build the playbooks that replicate it
- Identify where product or technology could accelerate conversion and partner with the Product team to define and prioritize those opportunities
Define what good looks like and own the improvement agenda
This role sets the performance standard for enrollment across the network and leads the work to close the gap between where we are and where we need to be.
- Establish benchmarks for what good pre-screening, conversion, and screen fail rates look like by TA and protocol type
- Define the targets that site-level and portfolio-level planning is built around
- Support the design of operational workflows to optimize how quickly patients move through the funnel and how they convert
- Work with Site Operations to build improvement plans with clear owners, clear timelines, and clear success criteria
- Run experiments to determine how to drive patient volume including referrals, education, patient advocacy engagement, community outreach etc. Replicate successful experiments across the network
- Monitor performance against targets, surface risks early, and lead the cross-functional response before gaps become misses
What We're Looking For
Required
- 8+ years in strategy and operations at a fast paced company, with strong evidence of driving growth
- Strong analytical background, able to delve into data to monitor and identify areas for improvement
- Hands-on experience designing and running programs with cross functional teams and developing new operating models
- Strong operational instincts with the ability to take a strategy from concept to execution and drive pull-through
- Experience working across functions to drive outcomes, influencing through credibility and relationships, not authority
- Clear, compelling communicator, able to build a persuasive case for a program, present performance to leadership, and work credibly with clinical and commercial stakeholders
Strongly preferred
- Familiarity with both the site-level and sponsor-side dynamics of clinical trial enrollment
- Experience running experiments, designing a test, measuring the result, and building from what works
How We Work
- Collaborative and low-ego team environment
- High ownership and accountability culture
- Fast-paced and highly iterative growth environment
- Open communication and continuous learning mindset
- Mission-driven organization focused on improving patient outcomes
- Comfortable navigating evolving business priorities and opportunities
Benefits That Support You
We believe great teams do their best work when they feel supported — professionally and personally.
- Hybrid work environment with in-office collaboration two days per week in either our NYC or Boston office
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision coverage, with up to 80% of premiums covered by Iterative Health
- Mental health and wellness support through Spring Health
- Health HSA or FSA options, and commuter FSA contributions supported by Iterative Health
- Unlimited PTO, 12 company holidays, and a company-wide shutdown between Christmas and New Years
- 401(k) program with a company match of up to 3% (up to $3,000 annually)
- Weekly in-office lunch benefit every Tuesday
- 100% company-paid short-term and long-term disability coverage
- Annual wellness and professional development stipend to support your health and growth
- And more!
