DV Program Supervisor - Gender Based Violence Rapid Rehousing

We are currently searching for a full‑time DV Program Supervisor for the Gender Based Violence Rapid Rehousing Program at our Calumet office. Salary: The average starting salary for this position will fall in the range of $62,000 and $69,000 annually. Where candidates fall in this range will be based on skill and experience level. Essential Job Functions Oversees a domestic violence advocacy program area and supervises its staff members. Plans, develops, and implements interventions that meet changing client needs. Assumes responsibility for grant monitoring and reporting within their program area. Provides supervision, coaching, and support to program staff in crisis management, non‑violent communication, and conflict resolution. Promotes a team‑oriented approach that fosters positive interactions. Collaborates with the Program Director to hire, supervise, and evaluate staff, interns, and volunteers within their program area. Oversees scheduling and on‑call responsibilities of program staff, rotating duties with other DV Program Supervisors or staff when appropriate. Administers assessments as appropriate and trains staff in their use and interpretation. Assesses and responds to survivors’ needs using short‑term, strengths‑based interventions. Facilitates group supervision, team meetings, and agency meetings. Collaborates with departmental staff and other programs to provide comprehensive services to clients. Monitors contract, grant, and program expectations, ensuring team members meet timelines and reporting requirements. Conducts program planning and makes budget recommendations to the DV Program Director. May carry a client caseload, providing short‑term, strengths‑based, trauma‑informed services to survivors of domestic violence and their children. Stays informed about current developments in the domestic‑violence field. Attends relevant workshops, conferences, and professional development events. Establishes and maintains contact with local agencies, organizations, and partnering sites. Represents Metropolitan Family Services and the domestic‑violence program professionally in the community. Provides services in accordance with the Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professionals’ code of ethics. Performs other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong supervisory and administrative skills, including team building, reflective supervision, and grant management. Knowledge of community resources, advocacy and crisis intervention skills, and an understanding of trauma and Trauma‑Informed Care. Empathic, non‑judgmental, service‑oriented attitude when working with clients. Recognizes survivors as the experts of their own lives and supports staff in partnering with clients to build strengths. Responds appropriately in varied situations and functions with minimal supervision. Works and problem‑solves independently and collaboratively within a team, demonstrating professionalism, flexibility, and mature judgment. Demonstrates self‑awareness, insight, and commitment to ongoing professional growth; models healthy boundaries and self‑care with clients and coworkers. Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong organizational skills, and effectiveness working with diverse populations. Accommodates flexibility in work schedule, including variable evenings and/or weekends. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of experience, including domestic‑violence survivor services and related services appropriate to the role. Demonstrated increase in administrative/supervisory responsibilities over time. Illinois Certified Domestic Violence Professional (CDVP) certification required by the end of the first year in role. Master’s degree (for court programs) and three years of experience in gender‑based violence and/or social services preferred. Court/legal advocacy experience strongly preferred for supervisors of the Court Advocacy Programs. 40‑hour Domestic Violence training preferred at time of hire; required at first opportunity and must be completed before any contact with DV program clients or their personally identifying information. Additional Requirements Satisfactorily pass all relevant screenings and background checks. Transportation/Travel Requirements Driving for work required with personally owned vehicle. Travel between sites not required. Physical Demands Employee required to sit, stand, speak, and use hands/fingers for sustained periods; occasionally stand, bend, stretch, stoop, kneel, and crouch. Requires close visual acuity for data preparation, analysis, and computer use. Benefits Aetna Medical Coverage, Guardian Dental Coverage, and VSP Vision Coverage.
