Staff Accountant

Job Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Williamsburg, VA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting month-end and year-end close processes. This role requires strong analytical skills, proficiency in accounting software, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team. Location Williamsburg, VA 23185 Key Responsibilities Prepare and maintain general ledger entries, reconciliations, and journal entries. Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes. Support accounts payable and accounts receivable functions. Prepare financial statements and reports as needed. Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. Assist with audit preparation and liaise with external auditors. Analyze financial data and identify discrepancies or issues. Collaborate with other departments to support financial operations. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. 2+ years of accounting experience preferred. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or similar). Strong knowledge of GAAP and accounting principles. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
