Water/Wastewater Senior Project Manager

Job TitleResponsible for the end-to-end delivery of complex, large-scale capital infrastructure projects.Job DescriptionThis role serves as a subject matter expert, managing critical projects that have significant impacts on Operational, Financial, and Regulatory objectives. The position coordinates cross-functional teams and works transversally across business units to ensure strategic alignment and project success.Primary Duties/ResponsibilitiesProject Lifecycle Management: Oversee all phases of large-scale water/wastewater projects, from conceptual design and funding approvals through execution and project closeout.Execution Strategy: Drive efficiency in project delivery by monitoring key performance metrics and utilizing alternate procurement and delivery methods.Financial Stewardship: Manage complex project budgets, perform ongoing risk/opportunity assessments, and ensure financial accountability.Stakeholder & Change Management: Work transversally with corporate and local business units; act as a bridge between technical teams and leadership to ensure asset owner satisfaction.Compliance & Standards: Ensure all project designs adhere to corporate Technical, Environmental, and Health & Safety/Security standards.Permitting & Regulatory: Coordinate with local staff to manage environmental and governmental permitting processes.Reporting: Provide monthly status reports to management regarding project performance, risks, and milestone achievements.Continuous Improvement: Participate in the development of engineering design and delivery processes, and provide technical expertise for facility condition assessments.Work EnvironmentAbility to travel approximately 30-40% to business units as required.Work is conducted in both office and field/facility environments.QualificationsEducation/Experience/Background: Bachelor's Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Environmental Engineering, or a related field. Minimum 10+ years of experience in managing large/complex water/wastewater design and construction projects (treatment plants, pumping stations, transmission/distribution).Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Thorough working knowledge of water/wastewater process applications and environmental regulatory frameworks. Project Management: Expert capability in initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, controlling, and closing complex projects. Leadership: Demonstrated "leadership by example" and ability to influence cross-functional teams. Analytical Skills: Strong financial analysis skills, including budget management and basic accounting. Systems Proficiency: Proficiency in MS Project, MS Office, and experience with performance monitoring tools (e.g., Oracle). Communication: Superior presentation and reporting skills; ability to communicate complex information to diverse stakeholder groups.Required Certification/Licenses/Training: PMP and/or Construction Management certifications; Professional Engineer License (PE) is highly desired.Additional InformationPay Range: $115000 to $125000 per year.Veolia's comprehensive benefits package includes paid time off policies, as well as health, dental, vision, life insurance, savings accounts, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteering and more.
