Packaging Associate

The Packaging Associate plays a key role in accurately picking, packing, and shipping online customer orders in a fast-paced warehouse environment. This position involves material handling, operating warehouse equipment, and working with computer-based systems to ensure all outbound shipments are properly labeled, packaged, and documented. The role requires consistent standing, bending, lifting, and attention to detail to meet productivity and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and complete customer orders by loading, packing, wrapping, labeling, and shipping products while periodically lifting up to 50 lbs and, when required, up to 75 lbs.
• Pick, pack, and ship online customer orders with a high level of speed, accuracy, and attention to detail.
• Ensure all outbound shipments have correct labeling, packaging, and documentation according to company standards and shipping requirements.
• Utilize handheld RF scanners and warehouse management systems (WMS) to accurately pick orders, track inventory, and update shipment information.
• Perform material handling tasks, including standing, bending, and lifting for 8–10 hours per shift in a fast-paced distribution environment.
• Operate pallet jacks and other warehouse equipment safely within racking zones and processing areas.
• Maintain organized workstations and contribute to efficient workflow in shipping and processing areas.
• Follow all safety guidelines, including proper use of required steel toe shoes and adherence to warehouse safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively in written and verbal English to understand work instructions, safety information, and order details.

Essential Skills

• Experience working in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
• Order picking experience using an RF scan gun.
• Ability to understand and communicate in written and verbal English.
• Comfort using a computer and warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Ability to lift up to 75 lbs as required.
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift continuously for 8–10 hours per shift.
• Experience with picking, packing, and shipping customer orders.
• Ability to operate pallet jacks and similar warehouse equipment.
• Attention to detail to ensure accurate labeling, packaging, and documentation.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of detailed packaging experience preferred.
• 1+ year of retail experience preferred.
• 1+ year of packing experience in a high-volume environment preferred.
• Experience with RF scanning and inventory processes.
• Steel toe shoes required as part of standard work attire.

Work Environment

This role is based in a large distribution center featuring racking systems and processing/desk areas dedicated to shipping operations. Wave riders and pallet jacks are operated throughout the racking zones, requiring awareness of equipment movement and adherence to safety protocols. The schedule for this position is Sunday through Thursday, 5:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., with no Monday or Friday start days. The work involves extended periods of standing, bending, and lifting in a fast-paced setting where accuracy and efficiency are critical. Steel toe shoes are required as part of the dress code to ensure safety in the warehouse environment.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Eagan, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
