Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Telemetry Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: 12-Hour Nights Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS Must-Have: Level 1 Trauma experience Description: New requirements: Will consider Level 2 Trauma experience. Will consider candidates with 18+ months of experience. First-time travelers are welcome. Automatic offer with 7 days of PTO or less; holiday PTO must be approved. Must have Level 1 Trauma experience. A 50-mile radius rule applies. Medical pre-screens are conducted if clinically recommended. Candidates must pass a dysrhythmia exam before acceptance; candidates have 2 attempts. If failed, candidates will be deactivated within the region for 6 months. Travel teams must have their own vehicles. Natural hair color is required, and no facial piercings allowed. Clean-shaven is required for fit testing. A pass/fail exam is scheduled on the first day. All RNs will complete a performance lab for specific clinical skills. This is a medical/surgical/telemetry unit caring for inpatients who may have behavioral health components. Psychiatric experience is preferred but not required. Interest in working with patients with mental illness is essential. The patient-to-nurse ratio is 1:4. The charting system used is Cerner. Common diagnoses include medical conditions with secondary psychiatric diagnoses. The unit has a capacity of 14 beds. Physical restraints are rare; chemical restraints are available. All activities are video monitored for security. Shifts are 12 hours in duration. Weekend requirements include working every third weekend. Holidays are scheduled based on a rotating staff schedule. Cancellation policy allows for up to 4 shift cancellations during a 13-week assignment.
