The Operations Manager works closely with the Branch Manager to ensure safe, effective, and efficient branch operations on a day-to-day basis. This role serves as a key partner to the Branch Manager, utilizing leadership, customer service, and decision‑making skills to drive operational success. Essential Functions Maintain equipment for retail sales inventory Oversee daily operations of the rental branch Verify account status and communicate with the Credit Department as needed Complete requisitions to maintain adequate rental inventory levels Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) Perform weekly cycle counts of the rental fleet Review outgoing contracts for accuracy including rates, delivery fees, and equipment numbers Oversee branch logistics and operational flow Maintain facility appearance and overall condition Support recruiting, onboarding, and training of staff Manage timecards, PTO approvals, and employee recognition Address employee performance through performance management practices Develop and coach team members Maintain understanding of P&L and key financial controls Ensure timely submission of required reports Maintain knowledge of: All aspects of business operations and markets Safety regulations for equipment and facilities Proper use and operation of equipment Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Required Education and Experience High School Diploma 2-year technical certificate or 5 years of management experience in the heavy equipment industry PC proficiency, particularly in Microsoft Office Valid Driver’s License Strong organizational skills Excellent customer service skills Military service will be considered in lieu of education/certification experience as applicable. Supervisory Responsibilities None Work Environment Primarily based in a front desk or office environment Climate-controlled workspace with standard office equipment Frequent interaction with customers, vendors, and internal staff Regular visits to shop and yard areas to support operations Exposure to noise, dust, grease, and heavy equipment Outdoor exposure to varying weather conditions Requires awareness of safety in active work environments Ability to transition between office and operational settings Strong communication, coordination, and multitasking skills required Travel Required None Physical Demands Moderate physical activity required Occasional lifting, carrying, and handling items up to 50 pounds Regular movement between office, shop, and yard Extended periods of standing, walking, or sitting Manual dexterity required for administrative tasks Must maintain situational awareness in active work environments Other Duties Please be aware that this job description provides an overview of the primary duties and responsibilities but may not include every task.
