Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Pay Rate: $29.21/hour

Job Overview

We are seeking an organized and dependable MRO Material Coordinator to manage the movement, availability, and accuracy of Maintenance, Repair, and Operations (MRO) materials within a manufacturing environment.

This role supports production and maintenance operations by coordinating material movements, monitoring inventory levels, maintaining accurate records, and providing daily direction to material handlers. The ideal candidate has experience with material handling equipment, inventory coordination, and basic computer applications, including Excel and SAP.

Key Responsibilities

• Review pending material requests from previous shifts.
• Verify availability of material handling resources and equipment.
• Walk assigned production areas to identify materials that need to be moved.
• Identify excess inventory, misplaced materials, and materials requiring replenishment.
• Communicate material movement requirements to the material handling team.
• Coordinate with production supervisors and operators to support production needs.
• Assist with material movements when necessary.
• Verify materials are placed in the correct locations.
• Remove excess or obsolete materials from production areas.
• Record material movements in Excel tracking spreadsheets.
• Update inventory and material location information as needed.
• Provide daily assignments and direction to material handlers and monitor progress throughout the shift.
• Coordinate the receipt, storage, issuance, and replenishment of MRO materials, spare parts, and maintenance supplies.
• Maintain accurate inventory records and complete required system transactions.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment to prevent shortages.
• Investigate inventory discrepancies and assist with corrective actions.
• Perform cycle counts, physical inventories, and inventory audits.
• Coordinate repair, return, and replacement of spare parts and equipment.
• Maintain organized stockrooms and inventory locations.
• Identify opportunities to reduce excess inventory and improve material flow.
• Support continuous improvement, Lean, and 5S initiatives.
• Maintain reports and metrics related to inventory performance.

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read and write English.
• Experience using material handling equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts.
• Basic computer skills.
• Basic Microsoft Excel skills.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work with production, maintenance, and other departments.
• Ability to frequently walk through manufacturing, warehouse, and maintenance areas.
• Ability to lift and move materials weighing up to 30 pounds.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in MRO inventory management, material coordination, maintenance storeroom operations, purchasing support, or supply chain operations.
• Tool crib or material handling experience.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of spare parts management, inventory control, and material planning.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle, Maximo, Infor, or other ERP/CMMS systems.
• Experience with Kanban, min/max inventory controls, cycle counting, and inventory audits.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and inventory reporting tools.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
