Fleet Maintenance Supervisor

Overview The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor manages day-to-day maintenance operations, including fleet repairs, diagnostics, supply inventory, staff time and attendance, record keeping, communication, mentorship, and effective leadership. The position reports directly to the Fleet Maintenance Manager. Responsibilities Notify management and supervision of all observed safety hazards and adverse conditions of existing safety equipment. Ensure all personnel use applicable company-issued personal protective equipment. Work in accordance with all safety policies and procedures; conduct safety/task‑specific meetings monthly, including any designated hot‑spot topics. Handle liquid storage of bulk and waste products using sound environmental BMPs. Determine root cause of issues and provide appropriate solutions, focusing on results. Record all repairs and maintenance accurately and timely. Work effectively with others at all levels in a positive manner. Stock, inventory, monitor, and maintain all departmental maintenance parts and supplies. Maintain the professional appearance of company equipment and the quality of repairs. Schedule all tasks to achieve required standards. Report excessive labor requirements to management to facilitate on‑time scheduling. Report deficiencies or observations that can affect performance or timeliness of day‑to‑day tasks. Recognize employee success regularly and provide positive reinforcement. Discipline employees fairly and consistently. Display confidence, enthusiasm, and take actions as needed to achieve goals beyond requirements. Build interpersonal and professional relationships; coach, develop, and mentor staff. Qualifications High School Diploma or GED; Trade School Certification. A.S.E. Certifications. 5+ years of experience in a maintenance environment. 2–3 years in a leadership role. Experience with parts and inventory management. Excellent organizational skills. Proficiency in MS Office applications and computer‑based maintenance tracking systems (Dossier, EMS, CFA). Consistently behaves in a professional manner. Great customer‑service attitude, communication skills, and ability to work with a variety of people. Valid Class C driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to perform the physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
