English I/II Teacher

Description/Notes The English I/English II Teacher is responsible for providing students with rigorous, standards‑aligned learning experiences in English Language Arts and Reading. The teacher will support students in developing reading, writing, communication, critical thinking, and analytical skills necessary for academic success, STAAR/EOC performance, college and career readiness, and lifelong learning. This position will focus on effective instruction in English I and English II, including reading comprehension, literary analysis, informational text analysis, written composition, revising and editing, academic vocabulary, and evidence‑based responses. The teacher will use student data to plan instruction, monitor progress, close achievement gaps, and support district goals related to student achievement. Stipend Note: This position may include a $5,000 stipend for certified staff demonstrating data‑driven English results, as reflected in the current English I/English II posting. Qualifications Education/Certification and Experience Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for English Language Arts and Reading at the secondary level, or related training and work experience for certification waivers under the District of Innovation Plan. Demonstrated competency in English Language Arts and Reading. Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience preferred. Experience with English I and/or English II instruction, STAAR/EOC preparation, writing instruction, and data‑driven instructional planning preferred. Special Knowledge/Skills Knowledge of English I and English II Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills. Knowledge of STAAR/EOC expectations, instructional standards, and assessment practices. Ability to design and deliver effective reading and writing instruction. Ability to analyze student data and adjust instruction to improve student outcomes. Knowledge of curriculum, lesson planning, instructional strategies, and differentiated instruction. Ability to support students in literary analysis, informational text analysis, written composition, revising, editing, and academic vocabulary development. Ability to instruct students and manage student behavior effectively. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to collaborate with campus teams, department staff, instructional coaches, administrators, and families. Salary Range: $60,500.00 to $74,407.00 #J-18808-Ljbffr Royal ISD
