Infant & Toddler Teachers

The Children’s Center – Clinton, Maryland

The Children’s Center is growing! As we continue expanding our Infant and Toddler Programs, we are looking for qualified, dependable, nurturing, and energetic Early Childhood Teachers who are passionate about helping young children learn, grow, and reach important developmental milestones.

For more than 50 years, The Children’s Center has served children and families in the Clinton community. We believe that every child deserves a safe, loving, engaging environment where they feel valued, supported, and excited to learn.

Our Infant and Toddler Programs focus on creating strong foundations through nurturing relationships, age-appropriate learning experiences, sensory exploration, language development, movement, social-emotional development, and meaningful play.

What We Are Looking For

We are seeking teachers who are:

• Caring, patient, dependable, and professional
• Passionate about working with infants and toddlers
• Able to create a warm, safe, and nurturing classroom environment
• Comfortable supporting feeding, diapering, toileting, naps, and daily care routines
• Able to plan and participate in age-appropriate learning and play activities
• Knowledgeable about infant and toddler developmental milestones
• Able to encourage language, motor, cognitive, social, and emotional development
• Comfortable communicating with parents about their child's day and progress
• Able to maintain a clean, organized, safe, and engaging classroom
• Dependable and able to arrive to work on time and ready for the day
• Able to work collaboratively with teachers, directors, families, and other staff
• Positive, flexible, and willing to contribute to a growing early childhood program

Minimum Qualifications

For immediate consideration as an Infant/Toddler Teacher , applicants should have:

✓ 90 clock hours of approved Early Childhood/Preservice Training

✓ 45 clock hours of approved Infant & Toddler Training or the appropriate equivalent infant/toddler coursework

Applicants must also meet applicable Maryland Office of Child Care/MSDE requirements under COMAR Title 13A, Subtitle 16 for the position.

Current CPR/First Aid and Maryland Child Care Credential participation are strongly preferred.

Infant Teacher Responsibilities

Our Infant Teachers provide individualized, responsive care while supporting each baby's natural development. Responsibilities may include:

• Following individualized feeding and sleeping schedules
• Providing tummy time and developmentally appropriate movement
• Offering sensory and early-learning experiences
• Supporting attachment, trust, and emotional security
• Completing diapering and feeding routines safely
• Maintaining accurate daily communication with families
• Monitoring and documenting developmental progress

Toddler Teacher Responsibilities

Our Toddler Teachers help children build independence while learning through exploration and play. Responsibilities may include:

• Supporting language and vocabulary development
• Planning sensory, art, music, movement, and hands-on activities
• Encouraging gross and fine motor development
• Teaching beginning social skills such as sharing and taking turns
• Supporting self-help and independence skills
• Assisting families with potty-training routines
• Creating structured but engaging classroom routines
• Encouraging curiosity, confidence, and positive behavior

Compensation

Starting at $18.00+ per hour , based on position, qualifications, and experience.
