Assembler (Industrial Machines) – Travel Opportunity Included

We're looking for a hands-on Assembler who enjoys building things from the ground up and wants more than just a standard shop role. In this position, you'll assemble custom industrial machines —and have the unique opportunity to travel to Mexico to help install and support equipment on-site .

If you have mechanical aptitude, basic electrical skills, and want to grow your career in machine building, this is a great opportunity to gain real-world experience in both the shop and the field.

What You'll Do

• Assemble complete industrial machines including laminators, feeders, cutters, and vacuum presses
• Read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics
• Build mechanical and electrical components from start to finish
• Wire control panels and verify connections using volt meters
• Install and connect 1–3 phase motors
• Assemble pulleys, belts, chains, and panels
• Perform basic fabrication when needed to support machine builds
• Work from detailed work orders and assembly instructions
• Collaborate with a team to keep production running smoothly and efficiently

Travel Opportunity (Key Highlight)

• Travel to Mexico (as needed) to assist with machine installation, setup, and support
• Work directly with customers and installation teams on-site
• Gain valuable field experience beyond the shop floor

What You Bring

• 1–3 years of assembly, mechanical, or technical experience (or relevant schooling)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read blueprints and schematics
• Experience using hand tools and shop equipment
• Basic electrical knowledge (panel wiring, testing, etc.)
• Ability to hook up motors and troubleshoot issues
• Willingness and ability to travel internationally (Mexico)

Bonus Experience (Nice to Have)

• Previous machine building or industrial assembly
• Panel wiring and electrical troubleshooting experience
• Experience in automotive repair, maintenance, or hands-on hobby work
• Familiarity with manufacturing or production environments

Work Environment

• First shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Clean, well-lit, climate-controlled manufacturing facility

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Elk Grove Village, IL.

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $24.00/hr.
