Accounting Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager for a direct hire opportunity in Irvine, CA. This hands-on accounting leadership role reports to the Chief Financial Officer and oversees day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and the month-end close process.

This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented accounting leader who enjoys balancing operational execution with broader financial strategy. The ideal candidate will bring strong GAAP knowledge, excellent organization, and a collaborative leadership style.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Prepare financial statements, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP, internal accounting policies, audit requirements, and tax preparation support.
- Assist the CFO with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow reporting, special projects, and financial analysis.
- Supervise, mentor, and support the accounting team while identifying opportunities for process improvement.

Compensation and Benefits

- Salary range: $90,000 to $110,000 per year.

Required Qualifications and Skills

- Lead accounting operations across general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll.
- Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Prepare financial statements, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, audits, tax preparation, and financial analysis.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5 to 8+ years of progressive accounting experience.
- Experience as an Accounting Manager, Assistant Controller, Controller, or similar accounting leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal accounting controls.
- Proven experience managing month-end close and financial statement preparation.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work closely with executive leadership and support operational improvements.

Preferred Qualifications

- CPA designation is a plus, but not required.
- Professional services or law firm accounting experience is preferred, but not required.
