Reporting to the Controller, this role plays a critical part in managing day-to-day accounting operations and delivering accurate, timely financial reporting.The Accounting Manager will help ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, strengthen internal controls, and support strategic business initiatives. The company is rapidly expanding and poised for growth, which offers significant professional development and advancement opportunities to its employees across many departments.What You’ll DoPrepare and coordinate quarterly and annual financial statements, including supporting schedules and disclosuresEnsure compliance with U.S. GAAP (including ASC 606 and ASC 842)Support the annual audit process and serve as a key liaison with external auditorsPrepare and review journal entries, reconciliations, and financial analysesApply technical expertise across revenue recognition, lease accounting, cost capitalization, asset impairments, and equity/debt transactionsDevelop and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and internal controlsPartner with cross-functional teams to identify and communicate financial risks and opportunitiesContribute to process improvements, automation initiatives, and cost-efficiency effortsSupport business development and transaction-related accounting activitiesConduct technical accounting research and assist with ad hoc projectsWhat You BringBachelor's degree in accounting or finance (required)5+ years of accounting/finance experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership or equivalent roleExperience in real estate or homebuilding strongly preferredStrong knowledge of U.S. GAAPAdvanced Excel skillsExperience with accounting systems (NewStar/Constellation preferred)Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsPreferred QualificationsCPA license (active)MBA or advanced degreeWhy Join City VenturesOpportunity to be part of a growing, innovative real estate organizationExposure to strategic initiatives and business decision-makingCollaborative and supportive team environmentProfessional growth opportunitiesWork EnvironmentThis role operates in a professional office environment with standard physical requirements.
