Foreman

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Coordinate with other construction teams and contractors, ensuring that work is completed according to project plans and specifications.
• Supervise and mentor a team of workers, assign tasks, and providing guidance as needed.
• Interpret electrical blueprints, troubleshoot electrical issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards.
• Must be knowledgeable of all safety rules and make sure they are followed for the safety of the crew and public.
• Supervise the set up and operation of all equipment.
• Know all basic transformer hook-ups (single and three phase)
• Supervise the cover-up of the work zone and supervise safe switching operations.
• Read and understand prints and specs.
• Plan and lay out a job for productive and safe operation.
• Fill out and complete a pre-job briefing.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Requires Class A level experience installing and maintaining underground power lines.
• Valid CDL A is required.
• First Aid Certification is required.
• Competency in CPR and pole top rescue is required.
• Ability to work at heights of 60 feet or more preferred.
• Experience with digger derricks, bucket trucks, trenchers, and groundwork with utility crews is required.
• Must be able to pass drug, alcohol, and background checks.
• Must be able to pass a physical examination.
• Able and willing to travel long distances on short notice.
• Able and willing to work for extended periods in various locations.
• Able and willing to work in all types of weather environments including inclement weather.
• Able and willing to work overtime when required.
• Understanding of the utility industry and operations.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Excellent organization and time management skills.
• High level of professionalism and integrity.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
• Ability to make decisions.

Working Conditions

• Work is performed outside in all types of weather environments.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to bend, climb, stoop, stand, and lift for long periods of time.
• Substantial movements of the hands, wrists, and/or fingers.
• Required to have close visual acuity to perform job duties.
