Advanced Food Service Technician, PRN

Find your calling at Mercy! Demonstrates proficiency in food preparation and meal assembly in all positions. Sets up and breaks down serving stations. Inventories and orders food and supplies following menus. Ensures tasks are completed when manager is not available. Directs the efforts of others. Position Details: Mercy Hospital- Rehab 615 S New Ballas Rd Saint Louis, MO 63141 Shift: PRN/ Days 10 AM - 7 PM Certifications: NWA: ServSafe Food Handler Certificate (or State equivalent) within 90 days of hire. Additional Qualifications: Strong communication skills are required. The ideal candidate must be able to effectively multitask and manage several responsibilities simultaneously while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Physical Demands The physical demands described herein are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Most physical demands are below, plus: Minimal: overhead lifting of Occasional: Balancing on slippery surfaces, Push Frequent: lift floor to desk height of Continuous: gripping Preferred Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Transforming the Health of Our Communities Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest.
