Description: RN/PCU Ratios: 1:5. On rare occasions, ratio could flex to 1:6 and travelers will be expected to take the extra patients. Years of experience required: 2. First-timers accepted: No. Holiday shifts and charge RN assignments as needed per unit. Weekends required: 8 weekend shifts in Saint Lukes 6-week schedule period, combination of F/S/S. Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Yes, regular floating may be required between departments, units and facilities as needed.

Certifications Required: BLS, NIHSS

Skills Required: Work settings: MS/Tele, Telemetry. Cardiac monitoring and emergency response: Interpretation of dysrhythmias, telemetry - on the unit monitoring. Endocrine/Metabolic: IV insulin protocols. IV therapy/Phlebotomy: Blood product administration, central line care/management, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, starting IVs. Medications: Heparin protocols, PCA. Respiratory: Chest tubes-Emerson/Pleur-evac, oxygen face masks, non-invasive airway management. Professional topics and skills: Isolation precautions, wound care/wound vac.

Skills Preferred: Work settings: Cardiac telemetry, ER holding. Cardiac monitoring and emergency response: Management of dysrhythmias, telemetry - on the unit monitoring, use of rapid response teams. Gastrointestinal: Feeding tube care and management. Genitourinary/Renal: Renal failure. Neurological/Psychiatric: CVA. Orthopedics: Ortho trauma, total joint replacements. Plastics: Surgical drains. Respiratory: Tracheostomy management.

Patient Diagnoses: Medical diagnosis related pulmonary, wounds, urology, general cardiac, general neuro, general renal.
