Working alongside our Commercial Services Representative II, you'll help local businesses establish and maintain their financial relationships while supporting the commercial lending process from application to closing.

How You'll Make a Difference

As the Commercial Services Representative I, you'll provide the operational support that keeps our Commercial Services department running smoothly. From opening business memberships and maintaining accounts to assisting with commercial loan processing and documentation, your attention to detail ensures our business members receive exceptional service while protecting the integrity of our loan portfolio. Every interaction you have helps build trust with our members and contributes to the success of local businesses throughout our community.

What You'll Do

• Member Service Excellence: Build positive relationships by qualifying, opening, and servicing business memberships and deposit accounts while providing responsive support for member questions and specialized service requests.
• Lending Support: Assist with the commercial lending process by interviewing members, preparing loan requests for underwriting, coordinating loan closings, preparing documentation, and completing UCC filings and third-party vendor searches.
• Portfolio Administration: Help maintain an organized and accurate commercial loan portfolio by tracking loan covenants, managing digital and physical records, completing equipment and vehicle valuations, and following up with insurance agents and other third parties to resolve outstanding items.
• Product Knowledge & Cross-Selling: Identify opportunities to introduce business members to products and services that meet their needs, including assisting with Merchant Services documentation.
• Compliance & Accuracy: Ensure every transaction is completed accurately while following all credit union policies, security procedures, and regulatory requirements that protect our members and our institution.

What You Bring

• The Heart: A commitment to providing exceptional member service with a positive attitude and a genuine desire to help local businesses succeed.
• The Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. An Associate's degree in a business-related field or equivalent work experience is preferred.
• The Technical Edge: Proficiency with standard office equipment and PC software, along with strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• The Credentials: Ability to become a Licensed Notary Public and must be bondable.
• The Essentials: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, sound administrative judgment, strong decision-making abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.

Schedule & Location

• Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
• Location: On-site – Marion, IL
• Hours: Regular business hours with occasional extended hours and travel as business needs require.
