Unit Highlights The Advanced Cardiac Surgical Intensive Care Unit is a 32-bed unit that provides world recognized care. It is home to some of the most critically ill patients in the southeastern United States. We provide cardiac surgical recovery care to patients requiring ECMO/ECLS, total artificial hearts, LVADs, heart and lung transplants, CABGs, valves, care for patients with adult congenital heart defects and many more mechanical cardiac support devices. ACSU is recognized as a PLATINUM level Center of Excellence in caring for ECMO patients. Healing Broken Hearts - As home to some of the most critically ill patients in the southeastern United States a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach is vital. • Patient Care Model: RNs, ECMO specialist and Nurse Technician support • Ratios: 1:1 Nurse to patient ratios. Schedule Full-time, 36 hours a week Shift Nights, 7:00 pm – 7:00 am Location 601 East Rollins Street, Orlando, FL Primary Job Responsibilities Monitor performance of nursing staff, provide feedback, conduct appraisals, and implement improvement plans to ensure clinical and professional standards are met. Foster professional growth by identifying training needs, organizing educational programs, and mentoring staff to enhance their skills and career progression. Resolve conflicts among staff promptly and effectively using mediation techniques to maintain a positive work environment and ensure team cohesion. Lead quality improvement initiatives by analyzing data, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to enhance patient care and operational efficiency. Communicate clearly and effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure coordinated care. Mentor and precept new staff by providing hands‑on training, feedback, and fostering professional development.
