Full-Time Nursing Faculty (Evening)

Overview Full‑time, nine‑month faculty position in the Nursing program, primarily focused on second‑year students in maternal health, pediatrics, mental health, and advanced med‑surg. Faculty will support student learning and progression by fostering clinical judgment, professional behaviors, and readiness for practice. Regular evening and weekend work is required, with limited daytime commitments. Responsibilities Support learning and progression for a single cohort, building relationships that promote confidence, accountability, and professional growth. Prepare students for graduation and transition into nursing roles. Deliver instruction in face‑to‑face classroom, clinical, and lab settings, requiring on‑campus presence. Perform instructional duties, organize and conduct classroom, lab, simulation, and clinical experiences. Evaluate student performance through assessments, simulations, skills check‑offs, coursework, and examinations. Maintain clear communication and engage students in academic and clinical success. Develop and maintain course materials, including syllabi and clinical documents, aligned with curriculum, program outcomes, and accreditation standards. Supervise and evaluate students in clinical settings for safe, ethical, competent nursing practice. Contribute to curriculum development and continuous improvement initiatives focused on student success and licensure readiness. Collaborate with Director and staff to implement learning outcomes meeting HLC and ACEN accreditation standards. Participate in faculty meetings, committee work, and shared governance to support program quality, retention, and partnerships. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Strong organizational and time‑management skills. Collaborative ability with faculty, clinical partners, and administration. Knowledge of current nursing practices, clinical standards, patient safety principles. Ability to supervise and evaluate students in clinical and simulation settings. Commitment to ongoing professional development. Required Qualifications Master’s degree or higher in nursing (or expected to graduate within a year). Equivalently of two years full‑time clinical practice. Current RN license in Illinois. CPR certified and current immunizations as required. Two years teaching or training experience. Strong interpersonal skills and positive energy regarding professional education. Effective communication skills in English, spoken and written. Preferred Qualifications One year full‑time work in maternal health, pediatrics, or advanced med‑surg. Teaching experience at a community college. Experience with electronic medical records. Familiarity with high and low fidelity simulations. Physical Demands Ability to stand and lecture for extended periods. Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift, and perform laboratory and clinical tasks. Ability to work primarily evening and weekend hours, with occasional daytime availability.
