Duration: 6+ Months

Duties:

• Under direct supervision, performs housekeeping duties and maintains the cleanliness and sanitary environment of assigned areas to ensure that all health and safety standards are met.
• Sweeps, scrubs, mops, strips, seals, waxes and buffs floors. Cleans halls, stairs and bathrooms. Washes walls, windows, water fountains, and mirrors.
• Cleans and polishes furniture, woodwork, vents and light fixtures. Dusts and cleans appliances, televisions, and video players. Cleans rugs, drapes, and venetian blinds. Cleans, sanitizes, and disinfects tubs, urinals, toilets, shower stalls, sinks, and Ule or floor surfaces. Cleans and removes trash from waste baskets, relining containers as needed and assuring appropriate disposal of trash and infectious waste, Shampoos carpets in all units. Operates cleaning equipment and machines used in performing required duties. Moves furniture and resident belongings as needed.
• Cleans areas outside of buildings, designated as a complement of the building, such as walk ramps, docks, porches, furniture and ash receptacles, Removes snow and applies ice melt to all entryways, cleans outside windows.
• Assists in training new employees in assigned duties when directed by Supervisor,
• Reports building equipment shortages and necessary repairs to Supervisor for work orders. Maintains adequate supplies for assigned units, such as cleaning agents and paper goods.
• Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
• Requires knowledge, skills and mental development equivalent to completion of High School supplemented by six months experience in the support services functional area to which assigned. Requires working knowledge of routine tasks commonly found in the area of assignment.
• Requires skills in the basic operation of machinery and equipment found in the assigned area. Requires ability to instruct others in simple methods and procedures common to the area. Requires the ability to perform heavy physical work.
