Senior Program Manager

Overview Senior Program Manager at The Boeing Company (Springfield, VA). Leads a geographically dispersed team supporting a proprietary space program, serving as the company’s primary interface with the customer program team and principally responsible for driving successful contract execution in a dynamic matrixed environment. May collaborate across multiple functions, programs, and locations. Responsibilities Manage employees and mid-level managers performing program execution activities. Develop and execute integrated organizational plans, policies, and procedures. Guide the development of business and technical strategies, goals, and objectives. Acquire and allocate resources to support organizational activities. Provide technical management oversight of suppliers and external partners. Lead process improvement initiatives to improve organizational effectiveness. Build and maintain collaborative relationships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports. Provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes. Develop, coach, motivate, and evaluate employees and mid-level managers. Support execution of program objectives through integrated planning and cross‑functional coordination. Apply risk, opportunity, and issue management practices to support program execution. Contribute to schedule, performance, and organizational effectiveness initiatives. Support earned value and project management activities, as required. Position is contingent upon award. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, program management, engineering, or a related field. 10+ years of experience leading or managing large or complex teams of managers and or non‑management employees. 10+ years of combined space operations experience at the strategic, operational, and tactical levels. Experience with Program Management, project management and/or Business Operations. 5+ years of experience developing and deploying organizational plans and strategies. 5+ years of experience managing projects with cross-functional stakeholders and teammates. Preferred Qualifications Experience in a large, complex, matrixed organization. Experience with Earned Value Management System (EVMS). Experience with schedule management tools and practices. Experience with organizational development and change leadership. Experience applying systems thinking to enterprise or program-level challenges. Demonstrated experience in supplier management and technical oversight. Master’s degree or equivalent advanced education in a related discipline. Additional Requirements Active U.S. Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). An active clearance in the past 24 months is considered active. 5–25% travel required. Shift: 1st shift; additional shift support may be required. Successful candidates must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process. Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations. Summary pay range: USD $218,450 – $295,550.
