Project Manager
Savills North America
Savills’ Project Management Group is a quality-driven consulting team serving clients across the corporate, educational, healthcare, hospitality, retail, institutional, and real estate development sectors. Our culture is built on meritocracy—where attitude and initiative are as valued as technical ability. We celebrate creative thinking, fresh perspectives, and collaboration, recognizing that innovation often comes from trying new approaches and learning from every outcome.
We are seeking a Project Manager to join our New York City team. The ideal candidate is a proactive and detail-oriented professional with strong communication and organizational skills, and a demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. This position offers the opportunity to work across all phases of construction and real estate projects—from planning and due diligence through design, construction, and closeout—while partnering closely with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage assigned projects through all phases of the project lifecycle, including budgeting, scheduling, design coordination, permitting, construction, and occupancy.
- Develop and maintain project budgets, forecasts, and schedules, ensuring milestones and deliverables are met.
- Support senior team members and clients through project-related coordination, communications, and documentation.
- Actively participate in project team collaboration to provide advisory services and ensure alignment with client objectives.
- Anticipate challenges and develop real-time solutions to maintain project momentum.
- Identify and mitigate project risks proactively throughout design and construction.
- Prepare and assist with proposals, contracts, and scope development, including RFP/RFQ processes, bid leveling, and analysis.
- Review design documentation for completeness, accuracy, and consistency with project goals.
- Provide regular project updates, reports, and executive presentations for client stakeholders and internal leadership.
- Coordinate on-site activities with consultants, contractors, and vendors, ensuring alignment with client standards and project expectations.
- Manage relationships with clients, consultants, contractors, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned and supporting the development of best practices across the team.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 5–7 years of experience managing design and construction projects, preferably within commercial real estate.
- Strong understanding of design and construction methodologies, permitting processes, and landlord/tenant fit-outs.
- Experience developing project budgets and schedules, managing QA/QC, and coordinating multiple stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project); familiarity with Smartsheet or other project management tools is a plus.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and relationship management skills.
- Ability to adapt to evolving project demands and thrive in a client-facing environment.
Note: This position is not suited for candidates with an IT-focused background.
Work Location and Travel :
This position is based in New York City with an expectation of being in the office four days per week (Monday–Thursday). Friday may be worked remotely, unless project travel is required. The role supports clients across the U.S., and travel outside of New York City may be necessary for site visits and client meetings.
