Fleet Maintenance Coordinator

The Fleet Maintenance Coordinator manages and coordinates responses to truck and trailer breakdowns to ensure minimal downtime and efficient repairs. The role serves as the central communication point between drivers, maintenance shops, roadside service providers and operations staff. The coordinator tracks all breakdown events, arranges service, manages costs and ensures safe, timely return of equipment to service. Responsibilities Receive and respond promptly to driver breakdown calls or alerts. Assess repair needs and determine appropriate repair solutions (roadside service, tow, in-house shop). Dispatch roadside service providers or tow trucks when needed. Coordinate with drivers to ensure safety at breakdown locations. Maintain a network of approved roadside repair vendors and shops. Evaluate repair rates and monitor service quality. Verify vendor invoices for accuracy before payment approval. Keep drivers, dispatchers, and operations team informed of repair status and ETAs. Document all breakdown incidents in maintenance management systems. Track repair timelines and follow up on parts orders and service delays. Monitor repair expenses to stay within budget.
