Travel Surgical Tech/ORT - Certified Surgical Technologist/CST

American Traveler seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist with strong ortho, neuro, and general surgery experience for a Level I trauma OR position on nights.

Level I trauma OR for southwest Virginia with 25 OR suites and 24x7 on-site nursing coverage

Patient population includes neonates, adolescents, infants, pediatrics, and geriatrics

Services include general, orthopedics, neurosurgery, plastics, gynecology, oncology, robotic, ENT, ophthalmology, pediatrics, and sports medicine

Uses specialized equipment including ROSA, Si and Xi daVinci robots, Stealth, O-Arm, and HIPEC

Night shift schedule of 3x12 hours, 7p-7a, Friday through Sunday

Occasional holiday coverage required with one holiday per 13-week contract

No call requirement

Minimum of 2 years of experience as an OR Tech required

Strong general, orthopedic (total joints), and neurosurgery skills required

Big belly/crani/ortho trauma experience highly preferred

Robotic training highly preferred

BLS certification required

NBSTSA, NCCT, or military OR Tech certification required

Active VA state license or eligibility to obtain one required; license required if applicable

Out-of-state license holders must obtain VA state licensure, with 90-day authorization to work while licensure is in process

Work within a Level I Trauma Center for both adult and pediatric populations

Facility is Magnet-designated for nursing excellence and affiliated with an academic medical school

First-time travelers will be considered

Local candidates within 100 miles of the facility are not accepted

Previous employees must have a minimum one-year break before returning as a traveler
