Mill Operator

The Mill Operator operates and maintains CNC mills to produce precision components in accordance with engineering prints and established quality standards. This position requires strong mechanical aptitude, careful attention to detail, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced machining environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate CNC mills to produce precision parts that meet engineering prints and quality specifications.
• Monitor machine operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain dimensional accuracy and surface finish.
• Change tooling as required, ensuring proper setup, offsets, and tool condition.
• Use micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other measuring tools to inspect parts and verify conformance to specifications.
• Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and work instructions to plan and execute machining operations.
• Assist with or perform basic machine setups on mills, and support setup activities for lathes as needed.
• Troubleshoot machining issues on mills and lathes, such as dimensional deviations, tool wear, and machine alarms.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area around machines and inspection stations.
• Collaborate with team members and leadership to meet production schedules and quality goals.
• Follow all shop policies, procedures, and safety guidelines while working with CNC equipment.

Essential Skills

• At least 1 year of experience running CNC mills in a manufacturing environment.
• Previous experience operating lathes in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to interpret and read blueprints and engineering drawings.
• Hands-on experience changing tooling on CNC machines.
• Proficiency using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
• Basic troubleshooting skills for CNC machines, including mills and lathes.
• Mechanical aptitude and strong attention to detail in a machining environment.
• Ability to lift 50+ pounds as needed during daily operations.
• Capability to work independently and maintain productivity in a fast-paced shop.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with Mazak controls is an advantage.
• Experience with Fanuc controls is an advantage.
• Prior exposure to aerospace components or high-precision machining environments is beneficial.
• Experience assisting with or performing CNC setup; company will train operators who have basic operating experience.
• Willingness to learn new machines, processes, and controls as needed.

You will work with CNC mills and lathes equipped with controls such as Mazak and Fanuc, using precision measuring tools like micrometers, calipers, and gauges on a daily basis. Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Long Lake, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $29.00/hr.
