Dental Office Assistant - Business Assistant

Dental Front Desk Coordinator Hartland Family Dental Care is looking for a Business Assistant. Schedule: Monday, Tuesday 7:30‑5:00 pm, Wednesday 7:30‑4:00 pm, Thursday 7:30‑2:30 pm and Friday as needed. As a Business Assistant, you’ll support the front office by greeting patients, managing phone calls, scheduling appointments, processing insurance claims, handling payments, and collaborating with providers. Responsibilities Greet and welcome patients to create a great first impression. Manage front office duties including answering phones, checking office mail and email, and communicating with patients and insurance companies. Utilize Dentrix for patient scheduling and records. Schedule and confirm appointments for multiple providers. File patient insurance claims, follow up on outstanding claims, verify benefits, and explain coverage. Post insurance and patient payments and process accounts receivable. Review treatment plan fees and payment options with patients. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Will have access to PHI and require HIPAA training; must protect PHI. Preferred Experience 1+ year(s) in a dental or medical setting. Experience with insurance billing and accounts receivable. Experience with Dentrix or other dental software. Physical Requirements Ability to perform essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation. Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Can lift up to 15 pounds at times. Availability to attend virtual training sessions periodically. Tuberculosis test required for all new hires; not applicable in FL & TN.
