Sr. Database Administrator (DBA)

Key Responsibilities Design, implement, and maintain enterprise database systems (relational and/or NoSQL) Support and manage databases across on-premises and cloud (AWS) environments Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize queries and indexing Manage database backups, recovery strategies, and high availability solutions Deploy and manage database infrastructure in AWS environments (RDS, EC2, Aurora, etc.) Collaborate with DevOps teams to integrate databases into CI/CD pipelines Implement and enforce database security best practices (encryption, access control, auditing) Support system migrations, upgrades, and patching activities Maintain documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures Required Qualifications Active Security Clearance (Secret or higher) 4–8+ years of database administration experience (mid to senior level) Hands‑on experience managing any major database platforms (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server, MongoDB, etc.) Experience working in AWS cloud environments (RDS, EC2, S3, IAM, etc.) Familiarity with DevOps tools and practices (e.g., Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Git) Proficiency in SQL scripting, performance tuning, and query optimization Experience with backup/recovery, replication, and high availability setups Solid understanding of security and compliance requirements in controlled environments Preferred Qualifications Experience with PostgreSQL (including Aurora PostgreSQL) and/or Microsoft SQL Server Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools (Terraform, CloudFormation) Knowledge of monitoring tools (CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.) Experience supporting federal or defense environments Familiarity with data migration and ETL processes Security & Compliance Ensure all database systems comply with applicable security standards and policies Participate in audits and maintain compliance documentation Implement role‑based access controls and data protection mechanisms Pay Transparency The base pay for this position within Colorado is: $90,000.00 – $150,000.00 annually. For all other states, we use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop market‑driven ranges for our roles, and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range.
