Electronics Engineer III, Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE)

Lead Electronics Engineer We are seeking a Lead Electronics Engineer to join the Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) team for the Fleet Ballistic Missile (FBM) program. Location This position does not support teleworking. You will be located near the Lockheed Martin Space facility in Cape Canaveral, FL. The work schedule is a flexible 9x80, with alternate Fridays off, performed full‑time in the office. Key Activities Participate in requirements analysis, configuration determination, design, alterations, material procurement, manufacturing, testing, and acceptance for a wide variety of electrical and electromechanical test systems and multifunction integrated test equipment in support of the US Navy’s Ballistic Missile Flight Test Program. Mentor junior engineers and interface extensively with customers and senior leadership. Create and update project/process documentation that aligns with project requirements. Lead the design, procurement, assembly, testing, and verification of automated test systems, including data review, error analysis, integration, and troubleshooting. Develop hardware requirements from subsystem level to all locally assigned support‑equipment test systems. Interface with suppliers, customers, and internal design teams to provide cost‑effective and low‑risk solutions. Develop test‑system design documentation to communicate proposed designs to internal design and business teams, vendors, and customers. Qualifications Experience in both design and test of electrical hardware. At least 3 years of professional experience. U.S. citizenship; ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance (no clearance required at start). Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline from an accredited college or university. Hardware development experience. Experience with product life cycle (development, deployment, retirement). Strong technical background with automated test equipment (ATE) or similar systems. Previous experience as a certified principal engineer or product subject matter expert on integrated hardware equipment. Desired Skills Experience with Windchill, Zuken, or CREO. Experience working on project teams and development efforts. Capability to lead a team responsible for development and test of integrated test systems; experience as a subject‑matter engineer or equivalent. Demonstrated ability to lead/coordinate with small diverse teams in development of tech products. Experience reading schematic diagrams and other technical documentation. Requirements decomposition and technical proficiency. Ability to work autonomously and drive items to closure. Issue‑tracking experience. Experience troubleshooting. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Security Clearance This position requires a government security clearance.
