Tax Staff Accountant

Job Description Staff Accountant – Individual Tax Experience Location: Richmond, VA (Onsite) Compensation: $70,000–$80,000 annually We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with strong individual tax experience to join a growing team in Richmond, VA. This position is fully onsite and offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment supporting both tax preparation and general accounting functions. Responsibilities Prepare and review individual tax returns (primarily 1040s) Assist with tax planning and compliance activities Reconcile general ledger accounts and maintain accurate financial records Support month-end and year-end close processes Prepare journal entries and financial reports Communicate with clients regarding tax documentation and accounting inquiries Ensure compliance with federal and state tax regulations Assist with bookkeeping and additional accounting projects as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field preferred 4+ years of accounting and individual tax preparation experience Strong knowledge of 1040 tax returns Experience with accounting and tax software preferred Proficient in Microsoft Excel Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and client service abilities Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines Preferred Experience Exposure to business tax returns (1120s, 1065s) is a plus Public accounting or CPA firm experience preferred What’s Offered Competitive compensation package ($70K–$80K) Stable and collaborative work environment Growth potential and professional development opportunities Comprehensive benefits package #J-18808-Ljbffr
