The Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) provides speech and language services to eligible students in grades K-12 within a virtual educational setting. The SLP evaluates, identifies, and supports students with communication disorders that impact educational performance and access to the curriculum. Services may include direct therapy, consultation, screening, evaluation, progress monitoring, and collaboration with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.

This is a 10 month, full-time position requiring the ability to work independently for approximately 40 hours per week. A professional, distraction-free home office during the workday is required. Core hours are between 8:00 AM and 4:00 PM, while allowing for some flexibility as determined by school needs.

Residency Requirement: Resident of Pennsylvania; residents of other states will be considered on a case by case basis.

Salary range: $60,000-$74,000

The SLP serves as a member of the special education team and is responsible for implementing speech and language services in accordance with student Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), applicable federal and state regulations, and school procedures. Services are delivered primarily through virtual platforms, with occasional travel required for assessments, meetings, or school-sponsored events.

Essential Functions

• Deliver speech and language services to eligible students in accordance with IEPs, educational needs, and applicable regulations.
• Conduct screenings, evaluations, and reevaluations to identify communication needs and determine educational impact.
• Develop, implement, and monitor speech and language goals, interventions, and service plans designed to improve student outcomes.
• Collect and analyze student data to monitor progress, evaluate effectiveness of interventions, and inform instructional decisions.
• Collaborate with families, educators, administrators, and multidisciplinary teams to support student success and access to the educational program.
• Participate in evaluation, eligibility, and IEP team meetings by providing recommendations regarding communication needs, services, accommodations, and supports.
• Maintain timely and accurate documentation to ensure compliance with federal, state, and school requirements.
• Support educators and families in implementing communication strategies that increase student engagement, participation, and achievement within the virtual learning environment.
• Maintain professional knowledge of evidence-based practices, special education requirements, and speech-language pathology standards.
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of students and school initiatives.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This position has no regular supervisory responsibilities.


Minimum Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree AND
• PA Certificate in School Speech and Language Pathologist PK-12
• All PDE required clearances for school-based personnel

Minimum Required Skill Set

• Great organizational and time management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Adaptable technology skills
• Experience using search engines (internet) for research projects
• Experience using a student information system and/or other type of database
• Demonstrated competencies with general technology, Microsoft Office Platforms (Outlook, Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Teams, etc.), Google Platforms, Zoom, etc.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience delivering online speech therapy sessions
• Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC )
• CCC-SLP certification issued by the American Speech-Language-Hearing-Association (ASHA)

• This is a home-based position. When office days are required, the noise level in the office is usually moderate (computers, printers, light foot traffic).
• This position will include limited travel and will include limited overnight travel. This is estimated to be less than 15% of the time. Travel will be required for community events, PD and state testing.
