Environmental, Health and Safety Lead

Responsibilities Develop, implement, and enforce EHS policies and procedures aligned with manufacturing operations. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations (OSHA, EPA, ANSI, NFPA) and company standards. Conduct routine safety audits, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and risk assessments on production lines, equipment, and processes. Lead incident investigations, identify root causes, and implement corrective/preventive actions. Partner with production and maintenance teams to ensure safe equipment operation, machine guarding, and lockout/tagout (LOTO) compliance. Oversee hazardous materials handling, storage, and disposal in accordance with safety and environmental regulations. Develop and facilitate safety training programs (PPE, forklift safety, confined space, emergency response). Track, analyze, and report safety metrics (TRIR, DART rate, near‑miss reporting) across the organization. Support ergonomics initiatives to reduce repetitive strain and musculoskeletal injuries. Lead emergency preparedness efforts, including drills, evacuation plans, and incident response coordination. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to integrate safety into operational excellence (Lean/Kaizen). Develop EHS related communication including safety alerts and production review meetings. Provide guidance on EHS processes and ensure strategic alignment with new product launches and facility planning. Manage EHS projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of EHS experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment. Strong knowledge of OSHA standards, including LOTO, machine guarding, hazard communication, and confined space. Experience with safety management systems and compliance audits. Professional certification (CSP, ASP, or CHST) preferred. Familiarity with Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies is a plus. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for training, report writing, and interacting with diverse populations. Experience with ISO 45001 or ISO 14001 systems preferred.
